Well, I hoped to start off early today but set my alarm to pm -- oops. Guys woke me up though - good alarm clock.
I toured the Pergamon museum today - had the Gates of Ishtar - yep the gates to Babylon plus roman ruins etc. Also had an exhibit on greek-roman gods and the casts/statues made during that period of the gods - learned a lot regarding how to identify each deity by their attribute. So glad I chose this as my one museum in Berlin. I then conveniently got lost and found the back side of Humbolt University (where Enstein taught and Lennon studied) where there as a courtyard and grass area. Beautiful - did my bible study where enstein's students studied - very surreal.
Then found the beaches along the River Spree. Yep, they actually put sand down and have beach chairs and umbrellas along the river with caribbean drinks and music. Too cold to stay but would love to come back to Berlin and take part.
Walked back to the hostel and met up with my roommates, guys from Dallas/Houston - grabbed dinner and then met up with previous roommate Pippa (from Yorkshire) and we went out for drinks. Ended up at a Spanish tapas restaurant, then eclectic bar (playing indigo girls), then finally a local Berlin bar named Bar Nou. Fun night though ended late.
To another day in Berlin.
